Lioriq / Why the app asks for access

Why the app asks for access

Understand the Shopify permissions used to operate offers and measure tests.

Quick answer

The configured scopes are read_orders, write_orders, read_discounts, write_discounts, read_shipping, read_locales, read_markets, and unauthenticated_write_checkouts.

Plain-language summary

These scopes support offers, localization, shipping context, and result measurement. Shopify handles subscription approval and billing; payment card numbers are not collected by the app.

What Lioriq uses access for

Uses access for
  • Creating and syncing free-shipping discounts.
  • Reading Markets and locales used by offer targeting and messaging.
  • Connecting eligible completed orders to test results.
  • Calculating revenue, profit, and conversion.
  • Reading shipping configuration needed for offer and outcome context.
Scopes not requested
  • No product read or write scope.
  • No theme read or write scope.
  • No customer write scope.
  • No shipping write scope.
  • No payment-card collection or processing scope.

Permission guide

Configured scope Why it is used
read_orders Connect eligible completed orders to threshold-test outcomes and calculate report metrics.
write_orders Required for Shopify's cart-to-order copy capability so the same app-owned attribution value is copied to the completed order. Lioriq does not use this permission to edit merchant order data.
read_discounts Read the discount configuration associated with a free-shipping offer.
write_discounts Create and update the Shopify discount used by a published offer.
read_shipping Read shipping configuration needed to understand free-shipping and store-rate behavior.
read_locales Offer the storefront languages available for localized messages.
read_markets Target offers to All markets or selected Shopify Markets and display shopper-currency amounts.
unauthenticated_write_checkouts During an active experiment, write one app-owned, signed attribution value to the shopper's Shopify cart so Shopify can carry the selected experiment side through checkout. It is not used for general storefront analytics or to change products, quantities, prices, shipping options, customer data, or payment details.

Storefront measurement

While an Optimize comparison is active, the storefront app records the assignment and activity needed to keep a shopper on the same side and connect eligible outcomes to the comparison. The checkout-attribution scopes are used only to write one app-owned, signed attribution value to the shopper's cart and carry it to the completed order through Shopify checkout.

Data and uninstall

When the app is uninstalled, it stops using Shopify access for that store. Privacy and deletion details are covered in the Free Shipping A/B Privacy Policy.
